Go, Glow, Grow Program

Super Nutrition Girl

At Cypress Cove Elementary School, cafeteria managers (such as Super Nutrition Girl) are required to teach basic nutrition to students. They use digital whiteboards to present interactive lessons and hold tasting parties where students learn about eating healthy foods. The Go, Glow, Grow slogan is used to teach students about the different food groups - grains, fruits/vegetables and protein.

Go, Glow, Grow

Winter Garden

At Little Pearl Elementary School, a cafeteria manager and Nutritional Advisory Council student members planted a winter garden during the Fall of 2015. The garden contained plants such as broccoli, green cabbage, parsley and cauliflower. In the following months, they watched the plants grow and harvested their crops in the winter.
