Louisiana Fit Kids, Well-Ahead Louisiana and LSU’s School of Art teamed up to shed light on the professionals working each day to prepare healthy meals for Louisiana students. Johanna Warwick is the professor for The Studio & Light class for LSU and she works with students to sharpen their photography skills. In December, Warwick and her students spent a morning photographing school food service staff, school meals and the cafeteria at Lee High School in Baton Rouge.

The purpose of the photography project was to highlight the hardworking staff that provide students healthy meals. In addition, to capture the behind-the-scene moments of producing and promoting nutritious meals for students. Child nutrition programs in Louisiana play an important role in improving diet, reducing food insecurity and improving overall health. A healthy student is better enabled to learn and succeed and all students in Louisiana deserve that chance.
